Summary:

The anointing is not just reserved for pastors and those in ministry; it is available to all born-again believers. It is the power of God that flows out of the Holy Spirit into your
born-again spirit. This power guarantees you the ability to get results.
However, you must pay a price for it.

  1. To operate in the anointing, you must love righteousness and hate wickedness (Psalm 45:6-7).
    1. Old Testament righteousness referred to righteous acts.
    2. Because Jesus loved righteousness and hated wickedness, He was anointed of God—and Jesus remained anointed throughout His earthly ministry.
    3. New Testament righteousness—righteousness by faith—comes as a result of what Jesus has done.
      1. You are declared righteous before you ever perform a righteous act.
      2. Be not deceived into believing that because you are the righteousness of God you don’t have to do what is right (1 John 3:7, AMP).
        1. You must be willing to do what is necessary for God to anoint you with the ability to get results.
      1. When you are off the track of righteousness, you are off the track of power (1 Samuel 12:3).

    4. There is a price to pay for the anointing that removes burdens and destroys yokes (Isaiah 10:27).
      1. When you are tempted to sin, ask yourself, What will it cost me where the anointing is concerned?
      2. Because Jesus was without sin, His anointing was without limits (2 Corinthians 5:21).
      3. Don’t allow sin to place a limit on the anointing in your life.
      4. The anointing that knows no limits is the result of righteousness that knows no bounds.

    5. The apostle Paul was anointed, because he had a love for righteousness (1 Thessalonians 2:10).
    6. Because the prophet Samuel was righteous, his words did not fall to the ground when he spoke (1 Samuel 3:19).

  2.  To operate in the anointing, you must walk in love.
    1. Walking in love is walking in God.
    2. The fruit of love has been deposited in your born-again spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
    3. To demonstrate the power of the Spirit, you must walk in love.
      1. You cannot have more anointing than you have love.
      2. Spiritual gifts cannot compare to the more excellent way of love (1 Corinthians 12:31).
    4. Don’t allow the actions of others to cause you to lose the anointing.
      1. Strife, hatred, unforgiveness and bitterness prevent the anointing from operating in your life.
      2. When you walk in love and stay anointed, the negative situations in your life will melt away.
    5. Jesus was constantly moved with compassion; as a result, He was anointed to heal the sick.

  3. To operate in the anointing, you must live a life of praise.
    1. “Thank You, Lord” is always an appropriate response to every situation.
      1. A life void of praise and worship, experiences the absence of the anointing.
      2. Begin thanking God for what He has already done in your life.
    2. God is fearful in praise (Exodus 15:11).
      1. Jesus gave thanks before the loaves of bread were multiplied.
    3. Trouble is an opportunity to see the power of God at work in your life.
