Summary:

Love is the foundation for everything that we do as Christians. When you love God and keep His commandments, you open up the door for manifestation in every area of your life.

  1. Love is the foundation for everything in the Christian life.
    1. Whenever Jesus talks about keeping His commandments, He is talking about the commandment of love (Matthew 22:34-40).
    2. Love is not a suggestion; it is a command from the Commander in Chief—God.
    3. Religion is only a demonstration without the authentic love of God.

  2. The key to overflow is the love of God.
    1. Everything hangs on the rod of love. When you let love fall, your faith, healing, prosperity, prayers, deliverance—everything—will fall
      (Luke 10:25-28).
    2. In order to have genuine manifestation of God’s Word in your life at all times, you must demonstrate love.
    3. Love meets all the requirements of heaven, answered prayers and harvest (Romans 13:10-11).
    4. The proof of your Christianity is the amount of love you have (1 John 3:13-14).

  3. God doesn’t have love, He is love (1 John 4:7-8).
    1. Most people, even within the church, exercise human love rather than God’s love.

  4. What is God’s love?
    1. God’s love is agape love. It comes directly from God Himself (Romans 5:5).
      1. The moment you give your life to God is the moment you enter into His love.
      2. Manifestations come through expressing God’s love toward others. But we have resisted God’s love for so long that we fail to see manifestation
in our lives as we should.
    2. The love of God is the light of God and exposes sin.
    3. Agape love puts up with anything. When you become more tolerant of people and the obstacles you encounter, God will step in and avenge your
      enemies for you.
    4. Real love always produces.

  5. What is the difference between human love and agape love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, MSG)?
    1. Human love always wants the things that are good and lovely.
    2. Human love always wants to be pleased.
    3. Human love is conditional and needs reciprocal action.
    4. Agape love is not dependent on understanding, or what you think or feel.
    5. Agape love is what will differentiate between the wheat and the tares. It doesn’t care how you respond.
      1. When you love someone the way that God loves, you do so regardless of his or her actions. You love him or her through good times and rough
        times. That’s agape love.

  6. There are four characteristics of God’s love:
    1. It is unconditional. It is not limited, but absolute and unqualified. You don’t have to be qualified to receive the God-kind of love.
    2. It is one-sided. It does not need to be returned. It means initiating love no matter what.
    3. It is free love. It frees you to be you. You don’t need to wear the mask that attempts to shield who you really are. Once you understand
that God loves you, it no longer matters what other people think about
      you.
    4. It is other-centered love, not self-centered. The center of agape love is someone else.
