Summary:

Thanksgiving waters and helps to grow the Word seeds that you have sown. Glorifying God for what you desire before the thing has been made manifest is what makes it a reality in your life.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to give thanks enables God to turn
your captivity.


  1. If you fail to give God the glory, your blessing will become a curse (Malachi 2:1-3).
    1. Don't take credit for what God has done.
    2. Don't block your blessing by neglecting to tell others of God's goodness.
    3. Abraham gave God glory before his miracle was made manifest (Isaiah 51:1-3; Romans 4:18).
      1. He was grateful to God.
      2. He didn't consider the impossibility of his situation; He refused to believe anything contrary to what God had promised.
    4. To be thankful is to be fruitful; to be thankless is to be fruitless.

  2. There is power in thanksgiving (Psalm 67:5-6).
    1. Praise provokes increase; murmuring blocks what God can do in your life.
      1. You have the grace to refrain from murmuring; don't walk with murmurers (Proverbs 12:14).
    2. Thanksgiving must continue after the manifestationthen multiplication takes place.
      1. Example: Jesus gave thanks for the little, and multiplication took place (Mark 8:6-8).
    3. Water your seeds with thanksgiving.
      1. God is committed to bringing increase to whatever you plant and water (1 Corinthians 3:6).
      2. Talking and giving thanks are forms of watering your seed; giving, working, thinking, trusting and waiting are forms of planting.

  3. Take hold of God-given opportunities (Philippians 4:10).
    1. Preparation + opportunity = success.
    2. Your giving makes room for you; it establishes your throne.
    3. It is hard to accomplish things when you fail to take advantage of God-sent opportunities.
    4. Opportunities can come from any man (Galatians 6:10).
    5. Every acceptable sacrifice determines your outcome and increases your worth (Psalm 126:1-6).
    6. Every opportunity is God's design for the turning of your captivity.
