Summary:

The "world" is a system of operation that goes against God's Word, and Satan is the god of this world's system. God's way of doing things is
called the Kingdom of God, and it is a system of operation that lines
up with the Word of God. The spirit of lust is the dominant ruling
force of the world's system, but you do not have to be a slave to
Satan's system of operation. Instead, choose God's way of doing things,
which brings abundant life.

  1. There are two systems in operation on the Earth: the world's system and the Kingdom of God system.
    1. The world's system goes against the Word of God.
      1. The world's way of doing things is based on selfishness.
      2. All that is in the world is the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17, AMP).
      3. Satan dominates the world's system.
      4. Lust is the dominant ruling force of the world's system.
        1. Lust is an intense appetite to fulfill selfish gratification.
        2. The purpose of lust is to lure you out of the will of God.
        3. The person who outlasts temptation is empowered to have success in life (James 1:12, AMP).
        4. Temptation is pressure applied to your flesh.
        5. The more you resist temptation, the more its effect on you weakens.
    2. The Kingdom of God operates by faith.
      1. It is based on love and lines up with the Word of God.
    3. Refuse to fall in love with the world's way of doing things.

  2. How do people generally fall prey to unfortunate situations caused by lust?
    1. The power of lust in your life is dependent upon what you give your attention to.
      1. God is not the tempter (James 1:13, AMP).
      2. Satan baits you with your own evil desires (James 1:14, 15, AMP).
      3. Desire comes from what you give attention to.
      4. The negative habits you create will eventually dominate your life if left unchecked.
      5. There is a way out of the trap of lust: attend to God's Word (Proverbs 4:20).
        1. Your heart is God's garden (Proverbs 4:21).
        2. Words are the seeds you plant in your heart.
        3. There are three ways seeds are planted in your heart: through the eyes, the ears, and the mouth.
        4. Your life is the sum of what you have been planting.
        5. Satan wants to destroy your garden by planting his seeds in your heart.
        6. Guard your heart; God has given you a higher way of living.
        7. You have everything you need through His seed, which is His Word.

  3. Be of one mind with God; align your thinking with His Word (1 Peter 4:1, 2).
    1. Sin is slavery-we were liberated from sin's control (Galatians 5:1, AMP).
      1. Do not use your liberty as an excuse to sin (Galatians 5:13, AMP).
      2. Read and study the Word; it is your manual for life.
