Summary:

Problems, issues, solutions, negative attitudes, positive attitudes—all issues of life flow out of our hearts. Therefore, renewing the mind with God’s
Word connects us to success in every area of our lives. However, the
challenge comes when we leave out the part in which we have to study
the Word and understand it. Spiritual intellectualism is required if we
want to experience change God’s way.



  1. Keep your mind set on the higher things (Colossians 3:1, 2).
    1. The Word of God is higher knowledge.
      1. Get rid of your old way of thinking; it leads to wrong behavior (Colossians 3:9, 10).
      2. God wants us to be like Jesus in character.
      3. Be changed or transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2, AMP).
  2. Our issues come out of us (Proverbs 4:20-23).
    1. The womb or matrix can be used interchangeably; these words describe the place of development of a person or a thing.
    2. Problems or issues in life are developed in our hearts (Matthew 12:33-35).
      1. A good person, out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good things.
      2. An evil person, out of the evil treasure of his heart, brings forth evil things.
      3. Put the right things inside of you, and you will bring forth the right things.
      4. If you have bad thoughts, you will have a bad heart.
      5. In other words, people will see what is in our hearts, one way or another.
  3. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind (Matthew 22:36, 37).
    1. Whatever is in your mind is also in your heart.
      1. When the mind is not right, our circumstances will not be right.
      2. Our minds need to be renewed day by day; we can learn from our challenges if we keep our hearts right (2 Corinthians 4:16, 17).
