Summary:

There are two kinds of truth that produce two kinds of faith. You have to decide which truth you will allow to govern your life.

  1. There are two kinds of truth that produce two kinds of faith.
    1. The first kind of truth is truth that comes from God’s Word (John 17:17).
      1. The walk of faith is based on the truth of God’s Word.
      2. Faith is a practical expression of your confidence in God and His Word.
        1. No Word, no faith.
    2. The second kind of truth is sense-knowledge truth, or truth based on your physical senses.
      1. Walking by your physical senses is based on sense-knowledge truth.

  2. Whatever you embrace as your truth determines your destiny.
    1. You have to decide which truth will govern your life.
      1. You have a choice to either be governed by sense-knowledge truth, or the truth of God’s Word.
      2. The decision to follow God’s Word must be solidified before the battle.
    2. Believers must be governed by faith, or the truth of God’s Word, and not sense-knowledge truth (2 Corinthians 5:7).
      1. Sense-knowledge truth is fact, but God’s Word is truth.
        1. It may be a fact the pain in your body is real, but the truth of God’s Word states you’re healed.
    3. Your senses were given by God to aid you in this physical realm.
      1. Your senses were never intended to govern your life.
    4. You’ve been trained to operate based on sense-knowledge truth.
      1. Sense-knowledge truth becomes a problem when it contradicts God’s Word.
    5. You cannot understand God with your senses.
      1. Faith is for operating in the spiritual realm.
      2. Faith is the reality of things you can’t see.
        1. What you can see is subject to change.
        2. What you can’t see is eternal.
      3. Faith based on the Word is unchangeable.
        1. Base God’s promise on what He said, not on how you feel.
    6. To be successful in your faith walk, you must control your emotions.
      1. When negative emotions are allowed to take charge of your life, they will lead you away from the truth of God’s Word.
