Summary:

The curse that Adam brought on mankind through his disobedience in the Garden of Eden was the curse of being emotionally ruled. Satan's most powerful weapon is suggestion; he will

try to get you to accept his words rather than God's Word so that he can
affect your thinking, emotions and ultimately your decisions.

  1. When God created man, He gave him dominion and seed.
    1. God gave man authority on earth, and the ability to reproduce through the principle of seedtime and harvest (Genesis 1:28, 29).
    2. God blessed mankind by speaking words.
    3. God's blessing is an empowerment to prosper and excel in every area of your life.
    4. God's blessing produces His glory.
      1. God's glory is the manifestation of His Word.
      2. Adam was the glory of God.
    5. God gave Adam the job of guarding the Garden of Eden. He told man that he could eat of every tree of the Garden of Eden except the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:9, 15,16).

  2. Satan's most powerful weapon is suggestion.
    1. Satan spoke words to Eve that opposed God's Word.
      1. Satan suggested that Adam and Eve would not die if they ate of the fruit of the tree of good and evil (Genesis 3:1-4).
      2. When Adam and Eve received Satan's words and disobeyed God, sin entered the earth along with the curse.
        1. The curse is an empowerment to fail.
        2. God has given every person the ability to choose either the blessing or the curse (Deuteronomy 11:26).
        3. Disobedience blocks God's blessing in your life.
      3. The curse has a right to come into your life when you disobey God.

  3. One curse that entered the earth through Adam's sin is the curse of being emotionally ruled.
    1. God gave you emotions, but He never intended that your emotions would rule you.
    2. Your soul is the starting point for the direction of your life (3 John 2).
      1. Your soul is comprised of your mind, will and emotions.
      2. The condition of your emotions determines your decisions.
      3. When your emotions are out of control, you will try to control other people.
      4. Mastering your emotions means not allowing them to rule your life.
    3. The words you meditate on determine your thoughts; your thoughts determine your feelings, which determine your decisions.
      1. Your emotions must be governed and controlled by the principles established in God's Word.
      2. Live by God's Word so that your thoughts, emotions and decisions will lead you in the right direction.
      3. Don't allow the devil's words to take root in your mind; cast them down immediately with God's Word.
        1. Example: If you are experiencing the symptoms of a physical challenge, and your doctor gives you a bad report, don't meditate on those words. Instead,
find out what God says about your healing in His Word (1 Peter 2:24).
Meditate on the scriptures until your thinking lines up with what the
Word says. Your feelings will follow suit and you will find yourself
acting in ways that promote your health and divine healing.
