Summary:

Many Christians do not get results in their lives because they are not hearing God's voice. Faith comes by hearing God speak to you. Hearing sermons, listening to tapes, and reading the Word are gateways to receiving a rhema Word from the Lord for your life. When God speaks a specific Word to your heart, faith comes. God's voice is the voice of faith.

Purify yourself so you can become a house of prayer (Matthew 21:12).

    1. Jesus cleared out and purified the temple; then it became a house of prayer.
      1. Discipline yourself to pray; make a schedule.
      2. If you do not have the desire to pray, ask God for it.
      3. When you become disciplined to pray, you will begin to delight in spending time with the Lord.
      4. Your prayer life is the gateway to power.

  1. As a deer thirsts for water, cultivate a great thirst for God (Psalm 42:1, 2).
    1. If you study people in the Bible who got results, there is a common denominator- they all sought God.
      1. When you seek God, you will find Him.
      2. If you do not have a thirst for God, ask Him for it.
    2. Those who are thirsty receive an invitation from the Lord to come drink (Isaiah 55:1, AMP).
      1. He will invite you to come to Him, and then He will supply your needs.

  2. Faith comes by hearing a Word from God (Romans 10:17).
    1. You position yourself to hear from God when you read the Word and listen to it being preached.
    2. God may speak to you while you are listening to a sermon.
    3. Spend time meditating on His written Word so you can receive revelation knowledge from Him.
      1. When you read the Scriptures, they give you hope.
      2. Faith adds substance to your hope.
      3. When you hear God's voice behind the Scripture, faith comes.
      4. It is not enough for you to read your Bible and hear sermons.
      5. You get results from the Word when you spend a considerable amount of time with a scripture and receive revelation from God.
      6. You must hear a Word from God for yourself.
        1. Obey whatever God tells you.
      7. You cannot walk by faith without hearing from God and being led by the Holy Spirit.

  3. The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty (Psalm 29:4).
    1. Paul heard a life-changing Word from the Lord and saw a great light (Acts 22:6-9).
      1. The others with Paul saw the light but they did not hear the Word the Lord spoke.
      2. God will speak a Word specifically and purposely for you.
    2. God leads those who are willing to follow Him as sheep follow their shepherd (John 10: 3, 4).
      1. Jesus said He seeks the will of the Father, not His own will (John 5:30).
      2. Are you seeking your own will instead of God's will?
      3. Jesus always knew what to do because He heard from the Father.
      4. When you receive revelation from God, the gates of hell cannot prevail against you.
      5. Once you get a Word from God, nothing and no one can stop you except you.
