Summary:

As a child of God, you have inherited the blessing, which includes the ability to influence people for God and His kingdom.


  1. God wants every Christian to influence others for Christ.
    1. You should strive to bring others to Christ (Jude 22, 23).
    2. Believers are to be living examples of Jesus
      Christ (2 Corinthians 3:1-3).
    3. Christians are Christ’s personal representatives and should represent Him in everything they do.

  2. God has a purpose for having influence.
    1. Influence is the power to produce an effect without any apparent exertion.
    2. An influential person demonstrates Christ through his or her lifestyle.
    3. The blessing of God enables you to influence others for the Kingdom of God and dispense goods to them (Genesis 12:2, 3).
    4. In order to have influence on others, you must have contact with them.
      1. Don’t be afraid to interact with those who don’t know the Lord.

  3. People of influence make a significant impact on others and demonstrate the power and goodness of God.
    1. The Samaritan woman’s brief encounter with Jesus influenced her to such a point that multitudes of people were drawn to Him as a result of His impact on her
      life (John 4:27-30, 39-42).
    2. Peter and John used the name of Jesus to release the power of God to heal the lame man’s body. As a result, he began praising God, drawing people to the Lord (Acts 3:4-10).
      1. Peter and John were bold for the Lord and their impact on the lame man had a big influence on those around them
        (Acts 4:13-22).
        i.They were told not to speak in the name of Jesus any more but that didn’t stop them.
    3. King Solomon had so much influence and wealth that the Queen of Sheba lost her breath when she saw all that he possessed and the wisdom that he had
      (1 Kings 10: 1-10).

  4. Six ways to have an impact on other people are:
    1. Be an example of the Word in action.
    2. Demonstrate love and compassion.
    3. Be a giver.
    4. Don’t be afraid to make contact with those who don’t have a relationship with God.
    5. Make fulfilling God’s will for your life your top priority.
    6. Remain stable, committed and consistent.
    7. Be willing to help people.
      1. Don’t get weary in well-doing (Galatians 6:9, 10).
