Summary:

We are powerless without unconditional love, which is also called agapé. This is the God-kind of love, and it is more than a feeling— it is a decision. Satan knows the power we have when we
love the way God has instructed us to love. This is why he attacks our
relationships and our willingnesss to love God and others
wholeheartedly.


A. Without the love of God in our hearts, we are still spiritually dead (1 John 3:13-16, AMP).

1. When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives, we pass from spiritual death to life.

2. Our love for one another is proof of our spiritual transition.

a. A Christian who does not love fellow Christians is still spiritually dead.

b. In other words, he or she did not really become a born-again Christian.

c. God has commanded us to love one another, even those who are difficult to love.

d. Without love, we have no power or ability to get results in the Kingdom of God.

e. We must forgive others as an act of our will. Forgiveness should never be a burden.

3. The mark of a true Christian is the ability to love unconditionally. We honor God when we love the way He has instructed us to love.

B. A woman demonstrated her love and honor for Jesus by pouring valuable perfume on Him (Matthew 26:6-13).

1. The disciples did not see the act as valuable, like she did, but Jesus honored her by saying she would always be remembered for her act of
love.

a. When we honor God, He honors us.

b. When we honor Him with our capital and substance, we have more than enough (Proverbs 3:9, 10).

c. The power to get results comes from God (Deuteronomy 8:18).

d. God is love; therefore, love gives the power to get results (1John 4:8).
