Summary:

Your covenant with God includes protection. When you abide in His secret place, He will cover you and hide you from danger. However, when you
rebel against God, and try to protect yourself, you'll endure shame and
confusion.

  1. Your covenant with God guarantees you protection (Psalm 91:1-16).
    1. Protection is a shield or covering from danger or injury.
      1. It's part of your salvation.
    2. Where you abide determines your stability and level of protection.
      1. When you abide in the secret place, you'll remain stable and under God's protection.
    3. No enemy can touch you in the secret place.
      1. The secret place is a place of power-a place of protection.
        1. There's no fear there.

  2. When you rebel against God and try to protect yourself, you'll endure shame and confusion (Isaiah 30:1-4).
    1. God is your covering.
      1. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10, 11).
      2. Material means cannot determine your safety.
        1. Don't trust in riches to be your covering.
    2. When you trust and take refuge in God, He will hide you (Psalm 31:15-20).
      1. When you trust God to be your covering, He will protect you from harm and defend you from danger (Daniel 3:15-27; 2 Kings 6:8-20).
        1. God is your protector and defender (Habakkuk 3:4).
    3. When you're under God's covering, you'll operate in supernatural ability (Acts 5:12-16).
      1. Because Peter had a revelation of Jesus, people were healed by his shadow.
