In order to change, you must renew your mind and rethink what you believe and assume is right and true. The Word of God is absolute truth. If

what you think and assume about life doesn’t line up with the Word, it
is wrong. The person who believes they can avoid the consequences of
disobeying God’s Word is deceived. No one is an exception to the
spiritual law of seedtime and harvest which says whatever you sow, you
will reap.

  1. You must renew your mind if you want to see lasting change in your life (Romans 12:1, 2).
    1. Gaining more knowledge does not mean you are renewing your mind.
    2. Renewing your mind involves meditating on the Word and applying the principles to your life for effective change.
    3. A new mindset will produce a different response to an old temptation.

  2. In order to change, you must rethink what you believe is right, and what you assume is true.
    1. Determine if your ideas and mindsets line up with the Word.
    2. If what you think and assume about life doesn’t line up with the Word, it is wrong.
    3. Rethink concepts you received growing up.
    4. Rethink what you assume to be true.
    5. The Word of God is light and truth.
      1. Anything contradicting the Word is wrong.
    6. If you maintain the wrong mindset, you will be subject to the consequence of that wrong mindset.

  3. When the Word of God is not your final authority, deception is inevitable.
    1. You are deceived when you think you are right, but you are really wrong.
    2. The deceived person believes they are the exception to the rules of the Bible.
      1. They think they can outsmart God.
    3. Seedtime and harvest is a spiritual law.
      1. No one can escape seedtime and harvest.
      2. The seeds you sow will always produce a harvest (Galatians 6:7).
    4. When you are deceived, you will be led astray.
      1. The deceived person can’t even distinguish between what is true and what is false (Isaiah 44:20, AMP).
      2. Deception will always lead you down the wrong path.
      3. Eve was deceived into thinking she could eat the fruit of the Tree of Life with no consequences, but her actions led her down the wrong path (1 Timothy 2:14).
    5. Sin will disconnect you from God and keep you from inheriting the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10).
    6. When you are in fellowship with the wrong people and things, they will contaminate your relationship with God (1 Corinthians 15:33).
