Summary:

Now, more than ever, we must become radical in our faith and radical about the things of God. People in the world are radical about wickedness; however, Christians should be more radical about God’s way of doing things. In the Bible, we see many examples of people who were determined to have radical faith. We can also have that type of faith today.

  1. Jesus healed a bed-ridden man, who was sick with palsy. The man and his friends demonstrated their radical faith by using extreme measures to get to Jesus (Mark 2:1-12).

    1. The bed-ridden man tried to get into a house where Jesus was preaching; however, the place was filled to capacity.

      1. His friends were so determined to get him into the house that they tore the tiles off the roof in order to lower him inside.

    2. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (Mark 2:5).

      1. The sick man overcame great obstacles to receive his healing.

      2. His faith in Jesus’ ability to heal him was strong and apparent. As a result, he was instantly healed.

      3. Jesus wants to see us operating in the same type of radical faith today.

      4. We should strongly believe that Jesus can and will deliver us out of any negative situation we may face.

  2. Being radical means having roots or being rooted in something.

    1. We must be rooted in the fundamentals of obedience to God’s holy commands.

    2. “A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved” (Proverbs 12:3).

      1. Like the man with palsy, we must be rooted in our faith in God and His Word.

    3. The wicked desire the booty of evil men, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous yields richer fruitage (Proverbs 12:12, AMP).

      1. Righteousness is our stance. It is the ability to stand before God without any guilt, shame, or condemnation.

      2. We have a right to see God’s promises come to pass in our lives.

  3. “God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28).

    1. From the very beginning, it has been God’s desire to bless us and to cause us to be fruitful (Genesis 1:26-28).

      1. Adam and Eve were created to be productive; their hands were blessed.

      2. However, Satan came into the garden disguised as a serpent. He began to deceive them and divert them away from their original purpose (Genesis 3:1-4).

      3. God said that our hands and the works of our hands are blessed. We all have the ability to be productive (Deuteronomy 28:2-12, AMP).

      4. God has commanded the blessing upon us. The Lord will open unto us His good treasure and bless the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 28:12).

      5. Our hands are a symbol of our labor, economic strength, and capability.

      6. In all labor, there is profit (Proverbs 14:23).

  4. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, fear and poverty invaded their lives (Genesis 3:1-8).

    1. Their disobedience caused them to be subject to all types of fear and poverty.

    2. They were cursed because of their decision to disobey God (Genesis 3:10-16).

      1. Likewise, whenever we turn away from God and disobey Him, we experience brokenness and lack.

      2. We begin to have less than God’s best. However, He never intended for us to live below His best.
