FAITH VERSUS TRUST

Posted by Robert Bagonza on Thursday, September 23, 2010

Summary

While many of us have faith, we may not have learned to trust God completely. Faith and trust are two different things.

  1. We succeed when we place our complete trust in God (Jeremiah 17:7, AMP, Psalm 34:8).
    1. When we authentically trust God, we seek Him before we do anything else.
      1. We have to examine our lives and be sure we are truly relying on God.
        1. Relying on people instead of God sets us up for failure (Jeremiah 17:5, AMP).
        2. We cannot rely on our own understanding of situations and circu...

Posted by Robert Bagonza on Thursday, September 23, 2010

Summary:

Obtaining faith by hearing God’s Word alone is not enough to bring about manifestation. Faith must be coupled with corresponding action.

  1. Proper corresponding action is essential to developing our faith.
    1. Without full manifestation, we cannot have full corresponding action.
      1. Faith without action is dead (James 2:17-26).
      2. Making a faith confession is a corresponding action.

Posted by Robert Bagonza on Thursday, September 23, 2010

Summary:

God cares about our happiness, and He really wants us to enjoy life. We should not only be focused on quantity but also quality in life.

  1. Jesus died so we could have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10, AMP).
    1. The abundant life describes the abundance of quality in all areas of life.
      1. We can choose to be happy; the Apostle Paul thought himself happy (Acts 26:2).
      2. We are happy when we discover what to do in seemingly impossible situations. That is the benefit of wisdom (Proverbs...

DEVELOPING TRUST IN GOD (Part 2)

Posted by Robert Bagonza on Thursday, September 23, 2010
Summary:

Trusting God leads to a life filled with blessings. However, we must learn to completely lean and rely on Him. Trusting God must be more than a
religious saying or cliché; we have to live a life that demonstrates
our trust in Him.

  1. Blessed are those who trust the Lord; they are empowered to succeed (Jeremiah 17:7, Psalm 34:8, Proverbs 11:28).
    1. Trusting in man brings a curse (Jeremiah 17:5).
      1. To be cursed is to be empowered to fail; to be blessed is to be empowered to succeed.
    2. We, who...

Posted by Robert Bagonza on Thursday, September 23, 2010

Summary:

If we want to continue to be winners, as Christians, it is imperative that we know how to walk by faith. We must learn to live our lives according
to the Word of God, which is our final authority. Whenever we face a
challenge, we must turn to the Word first.

  1. Without faith it is impossible to please God; He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
    1. Faith grows out of God’s Word.
    2. God is not a respecter of persons; He is a respecter of faith.
    3. How do we get faith?
      1. First,...
