Summary:

Many times, it is difficult to distinguish Christians from worldly people. We should not love the things of the world more than we love the things of God. He wants us to share in His holiness so that we can see His promises come to pass in our lives. However, we cannot achieve holiness if we don’t pursue it.

  1. Three things Jesus wants to find on Earth when He returns:
    1. Believers operating in unconditional love.
    2. Believers living a lifestyle of holiness.
    3. Believers operating by faith.
  2. We must align our minds with God’s Word (1 Peter 1:13-25, AMP).
    1. Holiness is a state of being in total agreement with God.
      1. We cannot achieve holiness without the renewal of our minds.
      2. We must be obedient to the Word, and completely turn away from our evil desires.
      3. We do not receive God’s blessing by simply knowing His Word; we must obey it.
  3. “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness” (1 Thessalonians 4:7).
    1. In the world or society today, we will find all types of attitudes, beliefs, and thought patterns that oppose God.
      1. We live in this world, but we are not of the world.
      2. There should be a noticeable difference between Christians and worldly people. The light of God’s Word should shine through us as Christians.
    2. Many Believers are growing in their infatuation with the world instead of their affection for God.
      1. Infatuation with the world is caused by ignorance of the Word.
      2. When we become acquainted with God’s Word, we learn that God’s way of doing things far outweighs anything the world has to offer.
  4. Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Do not be fashioned after this world (Romans 12:1-2, AMP).
    1. Instead, be changed by the transformation of your mind.
      1. We transform our thinking by reading the Bible, comprehending it, and doing it.
      2. When we renew our minds, we also prove for ourselves the acceptable and perfect will of God for our lives.
