Summary:

How do we become effective in the kingdom of God? We must not only learn how the kingdom operates, but we must also learn how to reap from it. We can receive all that God has for us by doing things His way. He wants us to value His Word and plant it in our hearts just as a farmer plants seeds in the ground. We must guard and protect the Word until it produces results in our lives.

  1. “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings” (Proverbs 4:20, AMP).

    1. When we give attention to God’s Word, we are putting it in our hearts by hearing it, speaking it, and keeping it before our eyes (Proverbs 4:21, AMP).

      1. We have dominion in this earth; therefore, we can receive word-seeds (either positive or negative) and grow them in our hearts.

      2. Giving attention to God’s Word is the first step to “planting” it in our hearts as a seed.

    2. “For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:22, AMP).

      1. The Word, which is spiritual, can turn into a physical manifestation such as healing.

    3. “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23, AMP).

      1. Whatever you look at, listen to, and speak about in abundance will eventually overwhelm and overtake your life.

      2. Be sure the Word stays in your heart in abundance.

      3. Do not speak words that oppose the Word of God (Proverbs 4:24, AMP).

      4. Stay focused on the Word (Proverbs 4:25, AMP).

  2. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).

    1. We must do our part in making sure our heart is good ground, where the seed (God’s Word) can be planted.

      1. The Word of God should be hidden and protected in our hearts, just as a seed is hidden and protected in good soil.
