Summary:


God wants to do so much for you in the area of prosperity. However, you have to know that it's His will for you to prosper. Most importantly,
you have to know why He wants you to prosper. Prosperity is not just
about you, it's about having enough to be a blessing to others.
Learning the why and way for prosperity opens the door for it to flow
into your life.



  1. When it comes to prosperity, there are three things you must understand:
    1. It's God's will for you to prosper.
    2. Why God wants you to prosper.
      1. Knowing this will help you avoid abusing prosperity.
    3. God's way for you to prosper.
      1. Prosperity doesn't just fall out of the sky.

  2. There are two main purposes for prosperity.
    1. God wants to establish His covenant in the Earth (Deuteronomy 8:18).
      1. God promised Abraham He would establish the covenant of increase with his descendants.
    2. God wants you to be a blessing to those in need (Ephesians 4:28).
      1. Selfish people will not benefit from the covenant to prosper.
        1. Selfish people have no intention of meeting the needs of others.
        2. Selfish people criticize the prosperity of a man or woman of God.



  3. Many people think Jesus was poor; however, He was the example of how walking upright before God causes you to be blessed.
    1. When Jesus was a baby, He was brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
    2. Jesus had a treasurer.
      1. If He was poor, He wouldn't have needed a treasurer (Luke 8:3).
    3. Jesus had a home and allowed people to visit Him there (John 1:35-39).

  4. Stop pretending money isn't important.
    1. Jesus demonstrated the purpose for money (Philippians 4:19).
      1. If you aren't willing to help others, money will only be a tool for selfishness.
    2. The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just; however if the righteous misuse it, it will leave their hands.
    3. This does not mean personal needs will not be met (Matthew 6:24).
      1. God not only wants us to meet the needs of others, He also provides things for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17).
    4. Sometimes we don't enjoy what God gives us because we're so concerned about our reputation.

  5. There is a gateway to the world of wealth.
    1. In order for us to prosper, we must first prosper in our souls (3 John 2).
    2. God will give us illumination that will cause wealth to come into our lives (Deuteronomy 29:29).
      1. God is waiting on us to step out and do what He's shown us (Mark 4:21, 22).
    3. We've got to draw near to God and be willing to put aside worldly things (James 4:8, 9).
      1. We've got to allow getting closer to God and meditating on His Word to become a part of us.
        1. The Spirit of Truth leads us into all things (John 16:6).
        2. We have to meditate on the Word so we know the truth (Joshua 1:8).
    4. The Word will work for those who work it.
      1. The power comes from continuously acting on the Word.
