Summary:

People don't believe angels are real. These heavenly beings are as real as the people you see everyday. They exist to establish God's covenant.

  1. God promised to establish His covenant with Abraham and his Seed.
    1. God's covenant with Abraham is an everlasting covenant (Genesis 17:1-7).
      1. When God made the promise to Abraham, He swore by Himself because there was nothing greater He could sware by (Hebrews 6:13).
      2. God promised Abraham He would bless and multiply him.
    2. You can partake of the blessings of the covenant by obeying God's commandments (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
      1. God will establish His covenant among His people.
      2. Your part is to love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
        1. In order to keep this commandment, you must make a decision to love others regardless of how they treat you.
      3. God is not limited in how He can bless you.
        1. He's just looking for people who'll believe Him.
    3. You have angels all around you; their purpose is to establish the covenant God made with Abraham.
      1. Angels hearken unto the voice you give the Word.

  2. Recognizing His covenant to the next generation, God blessed Isaac for Abraham's sake (Genesis 26:24).
    1. God's covenant is being established throughout generations (Genesis 17:7).
      1. Those who belong to Christ, and believe in Him, are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise God made Abraham (Galatians 3:29).
      2. Those who are of the promise in Spirit are Abraham's seed.
    2. Abraham developed complete trust in God (Romans 4:19-21).
      1. Abraham trusted God completely because of the covenant.
      2. The Word of God was Abraham's final authority.
        1. When times get tough, many Christians lean on other things.
        2. When Christians lean on sources which eventually fail, out of desperation, they come back to God; however, that is not fully trusting God. iii.
Christians have to be fully persuaded like Abraham was.

  3. When the pressure is on, what do you lean on?
    1. God's Word has not and will not fail (Romans 9:6, AMP).
    2. Abraham didn't lean on anything or anyone but God.
      1. He fully believed God and did not stagger in his faith.
        1. Stand on the Word of God, not on religion.
        2. Understand the principle of sowing and reaping; you reap what you sow (2 Corinthians 9:6)
