Summary:

As a Believer, you will be persecuted. However, when you endure persecution, you will receive a reward in Heaven. God declares you are
blessed when you are persecuted. Choose to obey God’s Word in the midst
of persecution and endure it as a good soldier.

  1. You must learn to endure hardship like a good soldier (2 Timothy 2:2, 3).
    1. Sometimes God will lead you into battles.
      1. Whether the battle is hard or not is not the issue. Endure hardship and outlast it.
      2. Going through hardships does not necessarily mean you are out of the will of God.
    2. God did not call you to persecution, but He did call you to endure and outlast it.
    3. When persecution shows up, endure it as a first-class soldier of Jesus Christ.

  2. God calls you blessed when you are persecuted (Matthew 5:11, 12).
    1. The Word tells us to rejoice and be exceedingly glad when we are persecuted.
    2. If you choose to obey God in the midst of pressure, you will be empowered to prosper and your reward will be great.
    3. Go through the course to get the reward.
    4. The prophets of old were also persecuted.

  3. Persecution comes to steal the Word of God, which you have received (Mark 4:16, 17).
    1. Satan attacks people who are a threat to him.
    2. There are those who only endure for a time, but when affliction and persecution come, they become offended.
    3. Offense will cut you off from the promises of God.
    4. When you endure, you become proof to others that the Word works.
    5. Persecution tries to steal your confidence.

  4. Jesus was persecuted, and we will be also (John 15:20).
    1. Persecution is supposed to happen.
    2. You will be persecuted, even when you do everything right.
    3. In the midst of persecution, recognize that not even persecution can separate you from the love of Christ (Romans 8:35).
      1. Always maintain confidence in God’s love for you.
    4. Remember you are more than a conqueror and have the victory (Romans 8:36, 37).
      1. The anointing for conquest is gained through Jesus.
      2. Get rid of self doubt.
      3. You are the righteousness of God through the blood of Jesus.
      4. You are loved in the midst of persecution.

  5. Bless those who curse you (Romans 12:14).
    1. You can bless or curse people with words.
      1. To “bless” is to say something good. To “curse” is to say something negative.
      2. When someone says something bad about you, say something good about them.
    2. Do not try to execute vengeance on anyone. Allow God to repay you.
    3. Employ patience and remain the same through hardship and persecution (2 Thessalonians 1:4).
    4. It is a righteous thing with God, to trouble them that trouble you (2 Thessalonians 5, 6).
      1. Your job is to act in love.
      2. God will defend you.
