Summary:

You must renew your mind to change your life. The treasure that is in your heart will be reflected in your life. If you want to change outward

manifestations, change what is in your heart. Only the Word has the
power to go deep into your spirit and root out the bad treasure you
have stored. You have the power to choose the type of life you live.
Don't run from change; change yourself.

  1. Renewing your mind is the key to changing your life (Romans 12:1-3).
    1. Renewing the mind is a process that takes time.
    2. When you renew your mind, you prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God for your life.
    3. If your thinking doesn't line up with the Word of God, it is wrong.
    4. The Word must be your final authority.

  2. Whatever is wrong in your life is a reflection of what is in your heart.
    1. If you have good things (treasure) in your heart, good will come out; however, if bad treasure is in your heart, bad things will come out
      (Matthew 12:35).
    2. You must always deal with the root issues in your heart and mind.
    3. The Word is the only thing that has the power to go deep into your spirit and root out bad treasure (Hebrews 4:12).
      1. Change won't take place without the Word affecting the deepest parts of you.
      2. You can't just cut off the fruit without digging up the root. If the root is not removed, the fruit will grow back.

  3. Your mind controls your decisions and choices.
    1. Family, finances and relationships are all areas where you must make decisions.
    2. The degree to which your mind is renewed is the degree to which you will experience change in your life.
    3. A mediocre life is a life that is average.
      1. Average is being the best of the worst, and the worst of the best.

  4. Your treasure is where your heart is (Matthew 6:21).
    1. Your treasure is made up of your thoughts, beliefs, assumptions and the doctrines you have accepted as true.
    2. If your treasure is negative, your life will be negative.
    3. You live out your dominant thoughts.
    4. The words that come out of your mouth are what defile you (Matthew 15:10-20).
      1. Your mouth will bring forth what is in your heart.
    5. Your thoughts translate into outward behaviors.
    6. You can bring forth new things in your life.
    7. When your thinking changes, how you live will change.
    8. You have the power to choose your outcome in life
      (Deuteronomy 30:19).
      1. You choose life or death, based on the treasure inside your heart.
      2. You control what you choose; however, after you make a choice, what you've chosen will positively or negatively control you.
    9. Don't run from change, change yourself.
