Summary:

God has given every Believer authority over everything that He created. Moreover, He has given you the authority to command His hand to intervene in situations that concern you. Activating
the hand of God leads to a life of victory. But when you choose not to
involve Him, you follow the road of worry and end up in a state of
depression and despair. Command the hand of God and make your way
prosperous!

  1. God has given you authority to have dominion over all the earth.
    1. God has given you the right to command everything in the earth (Genesis 1:26-27).
    2. God has given you authority over the works of His hands (Psalm 8:6).
    3. You have the authority to command the hand of God.
    4. To command is to appoint, assign or commission.
    5. God will not get involved in your life unless you permit Him (Isaiah 45:11).
    6. When you choose not to use your authority to assign the hand of God, you have decided to handle challenges on your own. God is a gentleman.
He will not violate your will.

  2. God has given you mercy, but it cannot be utilized without intercession.
    1. God will not violate His Word.
      1. When you receive God's mercy in your life, often it is because someone interceded (prayed) for you.
    2. God has given the Believer the authority to stop the enemy. While someone is interceding on your behalf, Satan's attack against you cannot
      prosper.
    3. Samuel interceded on behalf of Israel. He used his authority to stop the Philistines from causing harm and danger (1 Samuel 7:13).
    4. Often, when bad things happen, it is because you failed to command God's hand.
      1. Do you allow negative things to happen to you by failing to use your authority to command God's hand in your life?
    5. When you don't remember to use the authority to command the hand of the Lord, you limit His power and ability to deliver you (Psalm 78:41).

  3. Casting your care into God's hands.
    1. To command the hand of God over your situation, you must humble yourself (1 Peter 5:6-7).
      1. When you humble yourself, He will exalt you.
      2. You humble yourself by casting your care (what you are trying to work out yourself) on God.
      3. When you cast your burdens on God, He guarantees that you won't fall or fail (Psalm 55:22).
    2. There is no benefit to worry.
      1. Worry is defined as meditation on negative thoughts that may or might not happen. The Word says that when you meditate in the Word of God day
and night, you will make your way prosperous (Joshua 1:8). Conversely,
meditation on negative things will cause you to fail.
      2. God has given you the authority to take control over worry.
    3. Fling your worries and anxieties on the Lord. He is genuinely concerned about everything in your life.
      1. Fling means, "to cast away with force."
      2. Jesus commissioned Simon Peter to fling his fishing net into the deep water. Simon Peter obeyed and caught a great number of fish (Luke
        5:1-6).
      3. Worry is a sin. When you worry, you disobey what God told you to do (casting your cares on Him).
      4. Worry endangers your physical health and sets the stage for disease to attack your body. You were not created to carry worry.
      5. God's Word says, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6).
      6. Turn over the situation in prayer, supplication (intense request) and thanksgiving to God. When you do, He will provide the answer.
    4. Carrying care is a demonstration of your lack of faith in God (Matthew 6:25-34).
      1. Guard your heart from worry so that you won't become weighed down with pressure (Luke 21:34).
      2. When you are overburdened and weighed down with worry, you are depressed. Don't let that happen! Worry will choke out God's Word (Mark
        4:14; 19).
      3. Believe that God is interested in you and use your authority to assign God's hand.
      4. Trust His power and ability to use His hand to do His will in your life.
