Summary:

Change begins with renewing your mind. Unless you are willing to do something different in order to see different results, you will never experience

change in your life. You can make the difference in your life by
embracing the process of transformation. It is your responsibility to
change. Discipline your mind and do not allow your life to be governed
by your emotions.

  1. Change begins with the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:1, 2).
    1. To change something means to alter or make it different.
    2. You must do something different to get different results.
    3. Change your mindset by meditating on God’s Word and applying what you read to your life.
    4. Change starts on the inside of you.

  2. Embrace change rather than resist it.
    1. Lay aside things from your past and receive the Word of God with a gentle, humble spirit (James 1:21-25).
    2. Be a doer of the Word.
    3. Develop a personal relationship with God so He can change you.
    4. You will either change because of the presence of God, or you will change because of pressure.
    5. Everyone has a responsibility to change.
    6. God wants you to go from one level of glory to the next, and change will make that possible (2 Corinthians 3:18).
      1. God wants you to reflect His image, and not the image of Satan you had before your mind was renewed.

  3. Unchecked emotions are a major hindrance to change.
    1. Do not be governed by your emotions.
      1. God created you to have emotions, but you should never allow your life to be led by them.
      2. When you are led by how you feel, you are more carnal than spiritual (1 Corinthians 3:1).
      3. The distinction of a changed life is having control of your emotions.
      4. You cannot continue to make emotional decisions and expect to have victory.
      5. If the way you feel governs how you act, recognize that you are being emotionally led and need to change.
